Barreiros beaches
Casa Brais is in a privileged position when it comes to beaches.
One of the many paths that go down to the beaches passes right in front of our house. As the crow flies, you will find “Coto” and “Fontela”, two small beaches that are very close together and they are easily accessible by road.
If you continue in the direction of Ribadeo, a few metres away is “Lóngara” beach. This is one of the most visited beaches within the area and is frequented by surfers because it is common to find big waves here that facilitate the practice of this sport.
Almost right next to it, you will find “As Pasadas” beach, a small and peaceful cove among large rocks which is some metres below the level at which the road passes. Next to this beach is “Eido Dourado”, the property where Celso Dourado, the well-known artist from Barreiros lives and exhibits his work.
If you continue along by the coast, you will reach “Arealonga” beach at Reinante, although, as it is so large, it also occupies part of the territory of San Miguel, which has created much debate about who the beach belongs to. This beach is perfect for lying down and sunbathing as, if it is a clear day, there is no shade during the whole day. There are also various bars next to the beach where you can enjoy the terrace by the beach.
